School / Community Outreach Programme

Vision On Mission values the importance of working with local communities in Trinidad and Tobago to address societal concerns, as well as to facilitate a better understanding and management of social and environmental problems. VOM conducts programmes specifically structured to educate members of various communities about the organization’s mission in curbing violence and crime.

The organization also conducts many youth intervention programmes, motivational speeches, and guest appearances across the country, at various schools, to children of all ages. As a result of this, youths have a tendency to feel connected to the organization and more at ease in opening up to VOM Caseworkers.

On many occasions, VOM collaborates with its relevant stakeholders in the planning and executing of these activities.

Vision On Mission School/Community Outreach Programme consists of:

A School Intervention Programme which is a motivational intervention programme that alerts students to the dangers of being lured into a life of crime and violence and encourages them through practical tools and techniques for re-evaluating their actions and decisions in school, at home, and in their communities. Emphasis is placed on completing school, avoiding delinquent associates, following the rules of their parents and obeying the Law.

The Community Outreach Programme is an initiative consisting of voluntary community work where VOM clients and staff reach out to assist families in vulnerable communities, in the refurbishment of their homes, assist in landscaping projects, as well as other outreach methods utilizing various communication tools in an effort to reduce criminogenic tendencies in residents of these communities.
